Meet the speakers

Cameron Lee

Cameron Lee has been a member of the Marriage and Family program faculty since 1986 and was part of the program’s move from the School of Theology to the School of Psychology in 1987. While teaching marriage and family studies courses on the Fuller campus, he also speaks off-campus as a Certified Family Life Educator. He is a licensed Family Wellness Trainer and a member of the National Council on Family Relations. Dr. Lee is also a teaching pastor and licensed minister in the congregation where he is a member. He teaches and preaches regularly in church settings, often on topics related to family life and relationships.

Lee has been published in a variety of journals, including Family ProcessFamily Relations, the Journal of Psychology and Theology, and the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion. He is the sole or senior author of nine books, including Integration as Integrity: The Christian Therapist as Peacemaker (2020), based on the 2018 Integration Lecture he delivered at Fuller. He blogs on Scripture and the Christian life at Squinting through Fog and is the creator and host of Chunks, a series of mini-podcasts on the Bible.

Matthew Jarvinen

Matthew Jarvinen is an esteemed psychologist and educator with a strong background in clinical psychology and education. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary, complemented by a diverse educational journey that includes an M.A. in Religion from Point Loma Nazarene University, an M.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University, and dual B.A.s in Psychology and Philosophy/Theology from Point Loma Nazarene University.

Throughout his career, Matthew has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in both academia and professional practice. As an educator, he has taught a range of courses such as General Psychology, Psychology of Child & Adolescent Development, and Psychology of Adult Development. He has also delved into topics like Issues in Psychotherapy, showcasing his expertise in diverse areas of psychology.

Dr. Lucy Salazar

Dr. Lucy Salazar, Director of the Office of Equity Engagement and Partnerships at Long Beach School District, leads a mission to ensure the personal and intellectual success of every student, every day. With extensive experience as an Elementary School Principal, Dr. Salazar brings a proven track record in primary/secondary education. Her expertise spans K-12 Education, Elementary and Special Education, Staff Development, and Educational Leadership. Holding a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from the University of Southern California, she is dedicated to advancing Educational Leadership and Administration.

Accompanied by her team from Long Beach, including Carmen Hernandez (Administrative Assistant), Mayra Marcelo (Counselor on special assignment), and Elisa Catton (Parent Involvement Specialist), they will present on the benefits of Family Engagement programs within their district. Sharing best practices, they aim to illuminate successful approaches to Family Engagement.

Alejandro Vidal

Alejandro, Director of Family and Community Engagement at Family Leadership, brings over 15 years of experience in conducting dynamic training events as a conference presenter and keynote speaker.

With a background in organizational development and communication, Alejandro previously served as a manager at Apple, where he spearheaded innovative training initiatives for a team of over 80 employees. His programs equipped them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the rapidly changing tech landscape.

Alejandro holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism with a minor in Philosophy. During his time studying Philosophy he learned that the best way to connect with someone is to find the beauty in what matters the most to them.

Daniel Bunker

Daniel Bunker serves as the CEO of Family Leadership and is the author of the organization's Calm and Kind Family curriculum, which emphasizes compassion, connection, and trauma-informed behavioral strategies for both parents and children. He is additionally recognized as a National Trainer and Conference presenter.

Daniel's educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in theology. Before assuming his role at Family Leadership, he accumulated over 15 years of experience working on various church staffs, culminating in his position as the executive pastor of a successful church.

Throughout his tenure as a pastor, Daniel developed expertise in organizational leadership, staff development, strategic planning, operations, board governance, and finance.
